Hi, I’m Alix

(they/them)

I’m passionate about making the world more accessible and inclusive for everyone. As a deaf and queer creative, i understand the barriers that people can face, and the importance of advocating for people. I’ve spent the last few years working together with people to create accessible content and deliver training that has helped many freelancers, production teams, and broadcasters embrace inclusive practices and develop positive attitudes to change.

I love breaking down complex concepts into practical, actionable steps. Whether it’s designing a learning experience, working to make adjustments as an Access Coordinator, or sharing valuable insights by Speaking at industry events, my goal is always the same: creating a more inclusive landscape where everyone can tell their story.

I have also help to develop, coordinate, and deliver workshops for organisations in TV, combining practical guidance with an understanding of the social model of disability for foundational understanding and change. Sessions include: reasonable adjustments, neurodiversity inclusion, accessible productions and The 5As.

learning Design

I design learning materials that are accessible, flexible, and engaging. My work includes creating written content, graphics, e-learning modules, workshops, and resources, focusing on inclusive design. I place a strong emphasis on clear communication, varied learning styles, and creative engagement, ensuring content is relevant and usable for a wide range of learners and in multiple formats, including video, Audio, bsl, plain english and easy read.

Access

I create digital content for accessibility, advising on accessible training methods and resources for accessible productions, and have worked with CDN and Disability Arts online to produce Access to work in TV guide. all the training I have assisted in producing focuses on how to support productions and events to have good standard practice for access and inclusion thoughtout the project.
